Coronavirus Community Fund

Two Ridings Community Foundation has a Coronavirus Community Fund to support community groups through this unprecedented time. See here for our latest update & report.

We are all deeply concerned about the people in all of our communities at this time, particularly those who are vulnerable and isolated. Naturally we have anxieties around how they are going to cope with the consequences of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Covid-19 presents a significant increase to the challenges communities across our area face and are already dealing with. This, against the backdrop of relentless and increasing strain on our voluntary and community sector, means that there will be a greater call on our Community Foundation to support people and places in the coming months.

The fund will support the following:

  • Community organisations that are preparing themselves to appropriately respond and continue their work in a difficult work environment, and to tailor their specialist services to give help to the people who need it the most
  • The development of advice and support initiatives to fill gaps for people and places where there are no current suitable services
  • Groups that provide vital community support to maintain some level of viability through these uncertain times where they are experiencing a significant loss of income as a result of the current crisis.

If you want to give locally, please do so through this local appeal. Otherwise the NET Appeal is the best way to ensure your donation reaches the most vulnerable people, where and when it’s needed. The National Emergencies Trust will distribute money raised through a number of charitable organisations including local Community Foundations, to ensure it reaches those who need it most.’
