Donate to THE LOCAL FUND for the Harrogate district
THE LOCAL FUND for the Harrogate District is a local, long term fund to support local people and communities through charitable activity in the Harrogate district.
It provides a sustainable source of funding for charitable and grassroots community organisations enabling them to apply for funding for activities and services that support people, keeping them connected to their community and with each other.
Projects supported by THE LOCAL FUND address issues like:
- inequality and hidden poverty
- loneliness and social isolation
- health and wellbeing

Why a fund for the Harrogate District?
Back in 2017, many local groups told us that securing funding from larger, national funders was very difficult as such funders tend to focus on areas of greater deprivation. In November 2017 we published a report for the Harrogate District highlighting the hidden and unseen local needs making the case for the need for THE LOCAL FUND. That need has not abated, in fact the Covid pandemic and cost of living crisis have pushed more and more people into poverty, loneliness and ill health. That is why this unique place-based fund remains crucial to support local people and communities to survive and thrive.
