Donate to the Winter Resilience Fund
Winter is approaching and for many local people that comes with a sense of dread.
Through talking to the community organisations we support, we know that some families in Yorkshire will have to make the excruciating decision as to whether to put food on the table this winter or heat their homes.
Some older people will also struggle, when they lose their winter fuel allowance.
Community organisations across the region become even more essential over the colder months. For some they become the go-to place for additional food and advice on bills and warmth. For others they become a second home. A place where they receive support to withstand the pressures of winter and feel part of a connected, caring community.
Charities and community groups, the very lifeblood of support for people, are being hit hard too. High energy costs have led to some organisations closing because they can’t afford to operate, and many more are on the brink.
Our Winter Resilience Fund gives people an opportunity to donate whatever they can afford to give local people and community organisations resilience. To enable them to keep going over these trying months.
All money donated to the fund will be distributed as small grants to charitable partner organisations with a proven track record. They will use these funds to support people in North and East Yorkshire, York and Hull through the winter months.
