Increase opportunities for children and young people in the Scarborough District

Two Ridings Community Foundation have been busy in the Scarborough District over the last few months bringing together and facilitating a network of community organisations that support children and young people.

As a collective group their aim is, through grant-making and support, to increase opportunities for children & young people to thrive in the Scarborough District and in particular to help promote good mental health and wellbeing.

The second round of the Scarborough District Children & Young People’s Fund is open and ready for applications. To make it as successful as possible, Two Ridings will be running workshops over the next few weeks to recruit panel members and to support groups with the grant application process.

PANEL WORKSHOPS: Local people needed to make up the panel

Local, passionate, community-focused people are now being sought to join the grant-making panel to get involved in making the decisions that will empower local young people and transform their communities. Having good local knowledge and a want to improve peoples’ lives is the only pre-requisite.

The Network recognises that to form an efficient and proactive panel, and to ensure funds reach the most appropriate community groups, a face-to-face workshop with open discussion and a Q & A session would be beneficial for people interested in being involved.
