Important changes to our grant application process
Whether you’re submitting your first grant application, or you have been supported by a Two Ridings grant in the past, we have an important update to share with you. We have made some changes to when we require certain supporting documents for applications to streamline and simplify the process for applicants.
New bank statement requirements
Previously, we requested a bank statement along with an application. From now on, applicants only need to provide a bank statement once their application has been successful. You heard us right; you no longer need to include a bank statement with your application.
Here’s how the process will work:
Notification of success: We will notify an applicant via email that their grant application has been successful, and we will ask that they send us a bank statement before they can draw money down. Please note that the bank statement must be from within the last three months.
Our requirements: We cannot accept lists of transactions or screenshots from an online account. Applicants can either scan or take a photo of a paper statement, or download a statement PDF from their internet banking. For more details, see our bank statement guidance.
Timeframe: Applicants will have four weeks to submit their bank statement to the Grants team. If they do not receive it within this time, the application will be withdrawn. We do advise that applicants have access to a statement when they apply, to ensure that this doesn’t happen.
Documents that we require for an application submission
There are still a handful of documents that Two Ridings need when people apply for a grant. Please attach the following documents:
- Your governing document
- A most recent set of annual accounts
- If you are a new group and do not yet have annual accounts, you will need to provide a profit and loss spreadsheet or a projected budget.
- Names and addresses of your management committee/Trustees/Directors.
- If you have previously held a grant with us, you only need to make sure that we have an up-to-date list.
Depending on the nature of your project, you may also need to include:
- Your safeguarding policy
- If you are working with children or vulnerable adults.
- Your Equal Opportunities policy
- Quotes for equipment or work to be carried out
Moving forwards
If you have already applied and submitted a bank statement, thank you very much. We will hold this on record until after the decision-making process. If you have applied and have not yet sent a bank statement, we will only ask you for one if your application is successful.
We hope these changes will make the application process more efficient for all applicants.
