Committed to social change? Want to make a real difference to lives? Apply and be our latest member of staff
Partnership Co-ordinator, York £30,000 pa pro rata for 28 hours per week
Are you committed to social change? Do you want to help make a real difference to people’s lives through changing the systems that perpetuate severe and multiple disadvantage? Could you enable a critical mass of interconnecting change makers to emerge?
We are looking for a Partnership Coordinator to work with us and with a range of local community members and professionals to understand and respond to severe and multiple disadvantage in York. The Partnership Coordinator will have two main responsibilities:
- Implementing a process to guide decision making and resource allocation in York for an allocated pot of funding; and
- To support and implement an action inquiry in York focusing on children, young people and severe and multiple disadvantage.
The post and the funding pot are both supported by Lankelly Chase Foundation. Although the post is funded for an initial 12 month period we would hope to sustain the post for longer, subject to the progress made in the first year.
Two Ridings Community Foundation is a locally based funder of charitable activity across York, North Yorkshire, East Riding and Hull. Over the last five years we have been developing our approach so that our funds and support (our people, knowledge and partnerships) is used to best effect. This means we work closely with partners so that our assets are well used within the wider funding and systems ecology in our places. We are a small team that works well together and with others and has a good reputation in our region.
This is a newly created role with an interesting range of responsibilities. As such, we don’t have a perfect idea of who will fill the role and what their background, experience or qualifications might be; but we consider that the role requires someone who has lots of empathy, strong relationship building and people skills, who can work flexibly and is open to different perspectives. This may come from working with people facing multiple disadvantage or from lived experience.
Support, conditions and opportunities
Two Ridings Community Foundation is part of a UK wide network of Community Foundations and is part of a global movement of community foundations. This means that there are opportunities to learn from and work with peers from across the network on areas of shared interest. In addition, Lankelly Chase work with a wide range of learning partners which the post holder will be able to engage with and learn from.
