Donate to the Surviving Winter Fund
Surviving Winter grew from people who wanted to donate their Winter Fuel Allowance to people who struggled to keep warm in winter. From there it has grown to a fund necessary so that people – both the old and the young – don’t have to choose between feeding their kids/themselves or heating their homes. With the ever increasing cost of living, food and fuel poverty has become a real issue, making winter a truly difficult time.
We accept any donations to the fund, including people passing on some or all of their fuel allowance, and distribute small grants to partner organisations.
Partner organisations then pass this on to people in the best way for them. It might be to buy blankets, hot water bottles, flasks for example, to supplement fuel payments or to advise on switching energy companies – however they see fit to enable people to stay warm and well.
We ask that the grants benefit as many people as possible.
In the past, we have partnered with local Citizen Advice Bureaus, groups supporting people who are homeless, and voluntary action services.
