Choose real change not loose change
Street Aid helps people who are homeless to turn a corner
And it gives people who want to help those people, a smarter, alternative way of giving
There are many reasons why people ask for spare change in York and Harrogate. Each person has their own story and many of us instinctively want to give money to them because we see they need help. But giving money directly to them can often keep them on the streets for longer.
Those same people can be supported by a Street Aid grant, which can help them get off – and often stay off – the streets.
Street Aid is a simple concept; have an easy way to donate ‘loose change’ to an appeal, combine all the donations together to make a pot of money, distribute that in meaningful grants to people experiencing homelessness and make a real difference to their life.
Donations of any amount can be made to our Street Aid appeals

Alternatively you can make a quick £3 donation at our city centre ‘tap points’ in York and Harrogate.
In York that’s at Spark York on Piccadilly (coming soon, Thor’s Tipi tap point). In Harrogate that is at the Marks & Spencer window, Cambridge Street and at Victoria Shopping Centre on Station Parade.
You can even send in a cheque directly to Two Ridings if that works for you.
But the key thing is that all those small donations add up together to make a life-changing sum for someone on the streets.
And every single penny donated goes directly to grants for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
