High Sheriff’s Dragons Den

Two Ridings are inviting local community groups from York and North Yorkshire to take part in this year’s High Sheriff’s Dragons Den, on the 20 October 2022 in Leyburn. We want you to showcase the work you do to secure unrestricted funding of between £3,000 – £7,000 from a generous £35,000 pot.

If you are based in York or North Yorkshire and are happy to do a short, 4 minute presentation, saying Who you are, What you do, What you need funding for and Why it matters, please apply!

Last year Sight Support Ryedale extended their transport support through the £7,000 awarded to them, so people in the remotest areas can reach them, get support and socialise. City of Hull Sports received just short of £10,000, helping them equip their learning and business suite and create opportunities for people all over the Orchard Park estate in Hull. Cherry Tree Community Centre in Beverley brought along 15 year old Chloe to their presentation to tell her own story of what their activities and support meant to her.

This year, Dragons’ Den will be held at Tennants of Leyburn hosted by Jamie Lambert the North Yorkshire High Sheriff of 2022. There will be a friendly audience of influential Yorkshire people supporting all the charities at this exciting event.

“Our aim is to really showcase you, the groups we work with. We want to show how you make a difference right where it is needed most.”

As well as the opportunity to secure some funding – all presenting groups take a share of at least a £30k pot, no one goes away empty handed – you get the chance to meet, network and share your stories with key players in the region, raising your profile and bringing your project to life. It’s a great way to showcase the impact grassroots organisations have on local people region-wide.

Local radio and press will be fully briefed too,  giving you a platform for media coverage and further profile raising.
