What this funded

The Let’s Create Jubilee Fund was set up by the Arts Council of England in conjunction with The National Lottery to fund a national programme supporting community groups to come together and form activities for the Queens Platinum Jubilee in June 2022

£82,757 was invested into the region with 15 community organisations awarded grants.

A community choir is coming together in Hornsea in an evening of song to celebrate the jubilee. Made up of local people, established choirs and youth groups they will be live streaming the event so that everyone in the community can share the joy

Oatlands School and Community Centre in Harrogate are using their funding to process and work their own clay to turn into a community mural depicting the community

Local artist Anna Whitehouse explained her vision

“The Centre and its volunteers are the supportive framework; the roots, trunk and branches, but it can only grow leaves and flourish through the engagement of the community and their sense of ownership. This can be achieved through hands-on, community workshops using this tactile and historical material.”
