What this funded

The Nimbuscare Community Fund was set up in 2021 so that the not-for-profit collaborative primary care provider in the York area could invest back into the local communities it serves.

The first round of funding focused around projects and initiatives that have a positive impact on the emotional and mental wellbeing of people living in York and some towns in East Riding.

£89,970 was invested into the region with 20 community organisations awarded grants.

Refugee Action York, Kyra Women’s Project and York Travellers Trust are all using their funding for counselling and a therapy programme building up resilience and supporting the emotional needs of York people.

The funding awarded to Thrive Outside, Open Country and The Conservation Volunteers will go on outdoor projects to improve the health and wellbeing of local people.

Harriet Johnson, Head of Programmes and Partnerships said:

“It’s been a pleasure to work with Nimbuscare on this fund. They have generously supported a number of groups from York to allow them to continue the vital work that they do in our community. They have shared their insight into the communities they care for and the feedback from their patients to ensure funding gets to where it’s needed.”
