Welcoming new team members to Two Ridings

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome three great new people to the team at Two Ridings.

Vicky, Graeme and Thomas joined us at the beginning of the month and are already making a huge impact in our Finance and Grants teams and bringing new ideas and dynamics to the our whole (small!) team.

Vicky Oulton, Graeme Dawson, Thomas Waring

With 20 years of finance experience working in Higher Education and the charity sector, Vicky brings a wealth of experience to her new role of Finance & Data Coordinator. She loves a good spreadsheet, and is delighted to be supporting people and communities across the region she was born in, grew up in and came back to live in.

“I was really drawn to the foundation’s commitment to putting people at the centre of everything they do. I love how Two Ridings care about the communities I grew up in, and I want to  be part of the difference they make. I also got such a good vibe around a small, friendly team that look out for one another, I am really happy to be part of that.”

Graeme, our new Grants Officer, firmly believes in the power of charities to create positive change in communities. He comes with many years’ experience of working as a fundraiser and is excited to cross over to being the distributor of funds. Graeme is going to be focusing on the communities in Hull, Selby and East Yorkshire.

“I love supporting charities to flourish and this role feels perfect for me. My history, helping put projects together within small organisations and communicating these to trusts, I hope, gives me the empathy and experience to support applicants when they get in touch with Two Ridings. I am already enjoying chatting to many of the community organisations we support.”

Graeme is also very creative and has taken a great interest in the upcoming Photography Exhibition.

Our new Head of Grants is a long term friend of Two Ridings. Thomas has been on our Grants Committee for a couple of years and has also been a keen panel member on several occasions.

The former CEO of St Nicks environmental charity in York, Thomas was drawn to the role partly due to always having a good experience with us as a funder. He’s keen to be part of a great team, at a great organisation, in a great region with great people doing incredibly great stuff.

“I have always been a huge fan of Two Ridings and been involved for a number of years voluntarily. They are so well regarded and I love that. I have been on the applicant side many times and always had a good experience and enjoyed the smooth process and friendly experience. When the opportunity came to head up the Grants team, I was very excited at the challenge. Having been very ‘hyper focused’ in previous jobs, I love the breadth and depth of the role, right across the region and I am already loving getting stuck into addressing the many issues local communities face.”

And as a team we are really delighted to have all three of them on board.
