Yorkshire charities fit for the King

Jan, our ever-busy CEO, was in the thick of it again last week, as part of a team introducing HM King Charles to some of the great small charities in Malton and Ryedale.

On a flying visit to the North Yorkshire market town, the day before the Maundy service at the Minster, King Charles and the Queen Consort visited several of Malton’s awarding winning food providers (he likes tea with a little honey!) followed by a walk around to talk to key charities in the area who gathered together to meet him.

HM King Charles chatted to the people behind Sight Support Ryedale, Ryedale Carers Support, Next Steps  and Camphill Trust, all organisations supported by Two Ridings alongside meeting key figures from Circular Malton, Ryedale Folk Museum, The Encephalitis Society and the Prince’s Countryside Fund.

The organisations represented all work locally to ensure everyone can access support and inspiration to make their own lives and those of others in the local community, a better place to live.

Jan said:

“This was a wonderful event to be a part of. It was great to showcase to His Majesty just some of the charities making such a difference in this rural area. It will live long in all our memories.”

You would think Jan would be winding down a little before her imminent retirement from Two Ridings. Not a bit of it! She was at the Maundy service at the Minster the very next day…
