Funding available for Tadcaster businesses and households affected by floods

Businesses affected by the floods in Tadcaster in February can now apply for funding from a new scheme managed by Two Ridings.

Selby District Council has generously donated £122,500 to establish the Tadcaster and Selby District Business Flood Grant Scheme.

The funding will support businesses that were affected by the flooding in a variety of ways including:

  • Loss of tools or equipment
  • Personal hardship due to loss of income
  • Repairs
  • Clean up costs
  • Restoration which builds future resilience.

This list is not exhaustive and we encourage people to get in touch to discuss their circumstance and how we may be able to support them.

Jan Garrill, Chief Executive of Two Ridings Community Foundation said:

“Two Ridings Community Foundation is pleased to be able to support the local Tadcaster business community affected by the flooding earlier this year. Thanks to the generous support of Selby District Council we can offer straightforward access to much needed grants to help businesses get back on their feet.”

Janet Waggott, Chief Executive of Selby District Council, added:

“We know Tadcaster has suffered terribly during the recent storms and this is a positive way we can have a real impact on the community as a whole. This scheme will support those who have been directly affected as well as the wider recovery of the town as a whole.”

Support for households

Two Ridings is also offering support to residents where water came directly into their homes (but not where it only went into gardens or garages).

Anyone whose main place of residence was flooded should get in touch with Two Ridings, so that we can help. Local authority list of areas and streets flooded will be used to ascertain which properties were affected and householders will need to show proof of residence.
